Agnipath Scheme 2022

Just stays connected to the article to know just each and everything about the scheme.

It was the Tuesday of June 14 2022 at 12:30 PM. There was a press conference by the Defence Minister of India Shri Rajanath Singh with heads of the Indian armed forces where they introduced something new which was going to be a great surprise to the whole country and especially for those who were associated too much with the army.

What is Agnipath? What is Agniveer?

This was regarding the new recruitment process for the forces including ARMY, NAVY, and the AIR FORCE

This new process of recruitment is named the AGNIPATH SCHEME 2022 which is the substitute for the older recruitment of all the soldiers in the Indian forces who are recruited as general Bharti for the lower rank or non-commissioned officer post in the forces.

Lt. General ANIL PURI explained the new way of selection in the army. It was an all-new procedure with huge differences from the old one. The scheme is known as Agnipath.

They presented that the Agneepath scheme is a way of selecting the people for the army so that India will have a great benefit in monetary terms as well as manpower also.

The scheme applies to all the Indian military forces including the three ARMY, NAVY, and AIR FORCE.

This scheme may create huge employment among the youth of the country with a good amount of monetary package.

What is Agniveer?

Agniveer is a term being used by the government and citizens for the people who will have entered the army with the scheme Agnipath. Looking to the name of the scheme reformed it and connected with the people’s emotions the devotion they show the love and attitude they have towards the service for the country it pushes their motivation also. That’s why it’s named AGNIVEER.

The ACTUAL change AGNIPATH 2022

This is all about the question in the whole scheme what the actual change is? How it is going to be different from the earlier way of selecting the soldiers?

Let’s cover in detail how the AGNIPATH scheme is a new process and what can come out of it.

What are the major changes Agnipath 2022

As the conventional recruitment process was like the candidates have to pass the written exam, physical test and the medical should be ok reported so then they could be eligible for the soldier training by the government whereas for Agniveer also it’s going to be the not much different from how it was in the earlier conventional way.

Here the procedure and the eligibility criteria and regarding details are as follow:

Eligibility criteria

The one is a willing candidate and in between the age of 17.5 to 21 year old can apply for the Agnipath 2022 scheme whereas for the first year batch due to coronavirus lockdown the time spends so fast just like the sand in your hand, there is a relaxation of 2 years, therefore, the age limits exceeds +2 years hence the age limit becomes 17.5 to 23 years for the first year batch only (i.e; 2022 ).

Mode of application:

For those who want to apply for the Agnipath scheme 2022 to become an Agniveer the mode of application is just an online medium only and you’ll find it on the official website of Agnipath scheme 2022.

Process of selection

The Process of selection for Agnipath 2022 is just a Physical test and then a medical test also to confirm whether the person is medically fit or not so that he/ she can give their contribution to the Indian defence service

The actual change is not in the process of selection but after it. Including things from salary to the time period, they are going to give their service to the nation.

The biggest change is in TIME PERIOD they’ll be soldiers for Indian military forces. As earlier the time for the average service by a person was like 18 years and then optional to leave or keep it continues as it is.

But the Service time for an average Agniveer is going to be for 4 years only whereas 25% of those who will be the best among them will be giving service for more than 4 years as usual conventional soldier used to do.

Another change is in the salary given to the Agniveers. As there is a change in the service time for the Agniveers therefore definitely it’s not going to be the same as earlier according to the Agnipath scheme 2022 those all the Agniveer who are recruited will have a different amount of salary package throughout the whole service period and later

  • Salary with increments per year
  • Seva Nidhi package
  • No pension after retirement
  • Insurance
  • Loan prior
  • Term life insurance if Shaheed

Salary:

In the service time of the whole 4 years the salary remains around Rs. 35,000  to 40,000 only. At the end of the service time, the retired soldier will get a good financial package from the side of the Indian government which is as per the information given below:

  •         1st yearRs 21,000 + Rs 9,000 per month = Rs 30000
  •         2nd year: Rs 23100 + Rs 9900 per month = Rs 33000
  •         3rd year: Rs 25580 + Rs 10940 per month = Rs 36500
  •         4th year: Rs 28000+ Rs 12000 per month = Rs 40000

At the end of the service time of 4 years retired Agniveer will get 11.77 lakhs as Seva Nidhi package which is only for an Agniveer. This is totally tax-free amount that you’ll get in your hand if you’re retired as an Agniveer.

The soldiers will get a free cover for 48 lakh rupees as insurance for the duration of four years.

Application Process for Agnipath scheme 2022

NOT DIFFERENT THAN OLDER WAYS OF SELECTION PROCESS there will be the same procedure of Agniveer’s selections as it was before the Agnipath scheme 2022.

  • Exam written
  • Physical test
  • Medical

The candidates will be tested whether they are able to be soldiers who can survive in harsh conditions without losing their b and is ready for combat anytime for the country’s welfare. What is the actual reason for introducing a new system Agnnipath 2022?

To understand this we need to know the true vision of the government and what they decided to do and have a change after two years of research by some experienced officers including LATE Shri Bipin Rawat Ji.

The vision of the Indian military

We can recognize one thing very well from having a look at the recent activities of defence management and ministry introducing a few major steps taken and some completely new things like;

  • India gets its first Chief of Defence Staff (C.D.S.),
  • DEPARTMENT OF MILITARY AFFAIRS (DMA) CREATED for Improved Civil-Military Integration,
  • BRINGING ATMANIRBHARTA TO DEFENCE An era of “Make in India” equipment for our Armed Forces,
  • UNPRECEDENTED PUSH TOWARDS NEW TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENTS WITHIN INDIA,
  • DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION Bringing Digital India to the Ministry of Defence (MoD),
  • REFORMING DEFENCE R&D To boost innovation and instil a scientific temper, etc.

And after all, introducing AGNIPATH SCHEME 2022 clears one thing the ministry of Defence is creating all new and upgrading rapidly to the forces while most of the focus is on modernization if we look at it closely.

As in an aircraft accident, we lost a great gem LATE. General BIPIN RAWAT was on a great project for the modernization of the Indian military forces from weapons to technology everything therefore right from that time India’s defence system is studying the various countries worldwide their most noticeable area was the average age of the soldiers, the technology, modernization, etc.

The whole concept can be divided to be understood in two main points:

  • Reducing the average age of the army to 26 which is 32 currently.
  • Modernization/advanced weapons of the Indian Military.

Reducing the average age of soldiers:

Agnipath scheme 2022 is selecting any jawan for only 4 years however the best of 25% will remain there for a lifelong service further but why only 25%, not the whole army? Why there is a limit of only 17.5 to 21 years only where the service time is only 4 years? As time passes these soldiers will become older with time but the focus is to reduce the age of the soldier

What will happen by reducing the age?

  • INDIA is a youth country, therefore, we have huge youth energy that will not get waste
  • Instead that will be used constructively will increase the power of the Indian army
  • The youth who will be retired from the army will be disciplined leading happy and socially appealing life
  • The manpower and work efficiency will improve as young are working and youth energy is being used

Modernization/ advance weapons of the Indian Military.

Generally, we use to call competition good or bad this can not be answered but this is true in the war and fights we always try to win and that is possible only if we have the required power and the exact working techniques. So why would our country leave behind in adopting the new technologies?

This doesn’t need any explanations why to modernize the forces but still a few very basic reasons and benefits India will get from this.

  • Better weapons. Therefore better resources
  • New technologies like drones, software, and hacking will also be undertaken.
  • More open to better ways of making winning strategies and winning the battle
  • Apart from the age reduction and modernization the scheme will also reduce the expenditure as the expenditure of India’s military was 76.6 billion in 2021 but due to Agnipath scheme 2022 that money will be reduced and the saved amount will be invested in the growth and overall development of the forces.
  • Removing the regiment and case religion-based recruitment

Benefits of AgniPath yojna 2022:

The government and a few very appreciated officers introduced the scheme to the country’s welfare therefore we will also have benefits over it there lets’s cover the advantages or say benefits of Agnipath Scheme 2022 for both the government and the common people who joined through Agnipath scheme as Agniveer.

  • India’s money will be saved and used for more development.
  • The forces will introduce to more youths it means more energy and work power.
  • The youth have a good opportunity as in the age a retired agniveer will have such amount of money that age people are freshly out as a student and remain unemployed.
  • Good loan and insurance policies for just Agniveers only.
  • A new thrilling and adventurous experienced journey for 4 years.
  • Those who left the study at a young age will also get a valuable degree from a recognized board.
  • More of Indian civilians will be disciplined and responsible after spending 4 years in the army.
  • Few state governments also promise reservation of seats for Agniveers in service sectors.
  • Agniveers will have a high social standard of living and reputation in society.
  • Retired agniveers can have another carrier or business as they are still not old
  • Seva Nidhi Package.
  • 25% who really want to serve their whole life as a carrier in the army can work hard and prove their eligibility to stay longer in the force.

Disadvantages of AgniPath yojna 2022:

The army, and military is not a job not at all it’s a passion it’s selfless love towards the nation and this love enhances when a true Indian is recruited for the service. People start their training and practicing for the selection in the army at a very young age they don’t really want a job or salary but they want to spend their life in the country and want to show their true patriotism  therefore the Agniveer scheme 2022 is also a big disappointment for those who wanted to devote their life to the army.

The major disadvantages or say demerits of the Agniveer Scheme 2022:

  • The person will be detached from the civilian/normal life. This might be ok if he would have to spend his whole carrier in the army only but after four years he has to make a shift in his carrier life. That would not be easy to do
  • There is not a 100% guarantee by the government about the retired agniveers will get employed, even if we see generally retired soldiers getting an informal job or remain unemployed usually.
  • Their skills of the battlefield are technically useless in the civilian lifestyle.
  • They’ll have to learn the new professional skills.
  • It is not an attractive deal for any person to chance for his life even when he is not getting any special benefit, and
  • No regular pension for the retired Agniveers.
  • No special treat or free service as a government employee
  • Need to recreate the carrier after 4 years.
  • Also there may be a lack of experience and expertise among the soldiers.

Conclusion:

If we see it from an individual’s view maybe we find the Agniveer Scheme 2022 not good or fascinating but if we see it on a higher level this is a hugely positive step to revolutionize the Indian armed forces. Also, it is an inferred topic that can have different opinions people.

Those who are having a true spirit for being a soldier and devoting their life’s few years to the country will for sure support it and what we can do is believe in government and respect the recruitment scheme and contribute the way we can to grow our country together
