The Technical Entry Scheme (TES) is an entry route for unmarried male candidates who wish to join the Indian Army as officers through their 10+2 qualifications. TES 55 Notification is specifically for those who have completed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) and are looking to serve in technical branches of the Army. This is a permanent commission entry that offers the opportunity to serve as a Lieutenant after successful completion of training.

For the July 2026 course, candidates who have appeared in JEE (Main) 2025 are eligible to apply. The application process begins in October 2025, and the course will commence in July 2026. Selected candidates will undergo rigorous training, including a 3-year technical training at Cadets Training Wings (CTW), followed by 1 year at IMA Dehradun to receive their Engineering Degree. Upon successful completion, they are commissioned as Lieutenant with a starting basic pay of ₹56,100. This scheme provides a golden opportunity for young individuals to serve the country in a technical capacity while also earning a prestigious degree.

Eligibility For TES 55

Nationality & Marital Status

  • Unmarried male candidates (conditions as per official rules).

Age Limit

  • 16½–19½ years as on 01 July 2026.

  • Born between 02 Jan 2007 and 01 Jan 2010 (both dates inclusive).

  • Class 10 certificate is used to verify Date of Birth.

Educational Qualification

  • 10+2 (PCM) with minimum 60% aggregate, and

  • Must have appeared in JEE (Main) 2025.

Medical Standards

  • Must meet Army officer medical standards (height/weight, vision, etc.).

  • Final fitness is decided by the medical board as per rules.

Vacancies

  • Total: 90 (provisional). This can change as per Army requirements/training capacity.

Selection Process (Step by Step)

  1. Apply online within the given dates.

  2. Shortlisting by Army HQ based on Class 12 PCM % and JEE (Main) 2025. Shortlisted candidates get SSB call-up.

  3. SSB Interview (5 days):

    • Day 1 (Screening): OIR tests + PP&DT

    • Psychology: TAT, WAT, SRT, SD

    • GTO Tasks: Group discussions, group planning, PGT/HGT, lecturette, individual obstacles

    • Personal Interview

  4. Medical Examination: As per standards (Fit/Temporary Unfit/Unfit).

  5. Final Merit List: Based on SSB performance and medical fitness. Joining letters are issued to medically fit candidates in merit.

Note: TES cut-off percentage varies by cycle. Do not assume last year’s number.

Training, Degree & Commission

  • Phase 1 (3 Years): Basic military + engineering training at Cadets Training Wings (CTWs)CME Pune / MCTE Mhow / MCEME Secunderabad.

  • Phase 2 (1 Year): Final training at IMA Dehradun.

  • Degree: Engineering Degree is awarded on successful completion as per rules.

  • Commission & Pay: Commissioned as Lieutenant (Level-10; starting basic ₹56,100) with allowances as per Government norms.

How to Apply (Simple Steps)

  1. Visit the official Army recruitment portal and open Officer Entries → TES 55.

  2. Register/Login and fill the form carefully (name, DoB as per Class 10 certificate, 12th PCM marks, JEE (Main) 2025 details).

  3. Upload required documents (photo, signature, educational details, ID).

  4. Review all entries, then submit the form.

  5. Save/print the acknowledgement. Check your email and dashboard for shortlisting/SSB updates.
